Pasting Formulas as Values
Sometimes you're using formulas to work with some data and you don't want it to be dynamic anymore. Removing the underlying formulas will freeze the data and make it more portable. We can do this by pasting our formulas as values.
To do this, copy a range of cells containing formulas and when you right-click to paste them, choose "Paste Special." This gives you a set of pasting options, which you can choose to paste "Values." The pasted data will then contain the cell values only.
The example shown in the gif above uses Excel for Mac, but the same workflow can be used on Excel for Windows and Excel Online.
This is one of those techniques that, once you know it, you'll find yourself using it all of the time.
